these dues on time.
Optional Skins Game ~ $ 45.00 (See Skins Game Paragraph).
Optional Hole-In-One Insurance ~
$5.00 (Hole-In-One-Insurance
Paragraph).
Normal starting times will be 4:30
p.m. Tee off
order will be determined by all team members
arriving on the tee. ALL TEAM MEMBERS MUST BE PRESENT ON THE
TEE
before the team is placed in the tee off sequence.
It is important that players, who can’t
make the 4:30 p.m. start time, notify the
NWL
Pro-Shop or their team captain if they are coming after 4:30 and before
5:00. If a player who is going to be late has not
called by 4:30 p.m., his group does not have to wait. However, groups are
required to wait until 5:00 if a player has called in advance to inform
the group
that he will be late.
Players who would like to set a specific time to play prior to or after
5:00 must have unanimous
agreement between
all players in the foursome, and the
early or late
match must be played on the original scheduled league date.
LEAGUE RULES
There Will Be No Substitutes
Used This Year
If any player misses 5 or more
matches (except
for major medical or bereavement) he will be taken off of their team
roster and
replaced by a player from the league waiting list.
Rules Committee will be: Tony
DeCarlo, Richard Glover and
Tim Whetsell. They will
be responsible
for establishing and governing the course
rules for the league.
You may use
the club face to roll your ball up to the width of the
club face in any direction without penalty
(you cannot place the ball with you hand). You cannot roll the
ball from
the rough to the fairway or from deeper rough to shorter rough.
You may only concede a putt to
your
competitor if
the distance is not greater than 10 inches on all holes except # 6)
Mulligan will be allowed on the
first swing of the first hole played. Mulligan
must be played before leaving the tee box. Players
must play the mulligan if used. Players
who play the same nine holes as the
league is playing before the scheduled league match will not be allowed
a
mulligan.
For Flight Championship matches: Handicaps WILL NOT be used for A Flight players. Handicaps will be used for B, C, and D Flights.
For a match to be counted, all groups
must complete all 9 holes.
Weather cancellation will come from
the league president or
the Nemacolin Golf Staff.
In the event
of cancellations, 2 makeup dates have been included in the 2009
schedule. However,
if there are more than 2 cancellations, those matches will not be made
up.
A player whose season end handicap
increases and causes him to drop from his current flight can only drop
one
flight level for the following season. A player whose season end handicap decreases can
move up only
one flight level per season.
To speed up play, "Ready Golf" is encouraged, i.e., if you are at your ball and ready to hit, go ahead and hit even though you are not away.
If a player shows up late (after 5:00 p.m.) and has made no arrangements for being late, he
may join his group on the course. If his group had already teed off, he
can
only join his group on the next tee box. He will forfeit any earlier
holes.
This does not affect team points since his partner can still play for
the hole(s)
he missed. See paragraph Page 4 ~ TEAM MATCH SCORING (One team player
missing).
SCORING
Scoring is based on
match play using weekly-adjusted nine hole handicaps. There
is no maximum handicap.
The total number of points a four
man team can win is eight (8). Each team
will have two players in two foursomes each week. In
each foursome, three matches
will take place as shown in the follow example:
Match
#1 - Most holes won by a two man team
(with handicap) - 2 points
Match #2 - A player vs. A player; most holes
won (with handicap) - 1 point
Match #3 - B player vs. B player; most holes
won (with handicap) - 1 point
INDIVIDUAL / TEAM SCORING PROCEDURES
Reminder, all
matches will be played using full 9 hole handicaps. NET SCORE
for each
hole is calculated by subtracting stroke(s) from the gross score for
the hole.
Example, if you score a 7 on hole # 2, and you are getting a stroke,
your net score
for hole # 2 would be 6. If you received
2 strokes on hole # 2, your net would be 5.
Players who do not pay their dues by May
14, 2009
will forfeit their individual and team point each night until
their dues
are paid. Their partner can still play
for one (1) individual point and one (1) team point if his dues are
paid.
INDIVIDUAL MATCH
SCORING (1 Point to
the winner)
Both Golfers Present
The
player with the lowest NET SCORE for the hole wins the hole.
The player who wins the most holes wins the match and wins one (1)
point. If the match is tied, each player
wins 1/2
point.
Your
Opponent Absent
If
your opponent does not show, you earn 1 team point. For a leader
point you
must play a card. If you tie you earn ˝ leader point, if you beat the
card you
earn 1 leader point.
TEAM MATCH SCORING (2 Points to the winning team)
All 4 Players Present
Example, Team 1 "A" and "B" players vs. Team 2 "A" and "B" players (Or any combination of A, B, C, or D players). The total NET SCORES for both team 1 players are added and compared to the total Net SCORES for both team 2 players on each hold. The team with the lowest NET SCORE total wins the hole. The team with the most holes won wins 2 points. If tied, each team wins 1 point.
One Team Player
Missing
Example, Team 1 "A" and "B" players vs. Team 2 "A" and "B" players (Or any combination of A, B, C or D players). Team 1 "A" player is absent. Team 1 "B" player must play against both Team 2 players using full handicaps. Team 1 "B" must beat the best ball of Team 2 ("A" and "B" players). The team with the lowest NET SCORE wins the hole. The team with the most holes won wins 2 points. If tied, each team wins 1 point.
One Team
Player Missing From Each Team
Example,
Team 1 "A" and "B" players vs. Team 2 "A"
and "B" players (Or any combination of A, B, C or D players). Team 1 "A" player is absent and Team
2 “B” player is absent. Team 1 "B" player must play against Team 2 “A”
player using full handicaps. The player
who wins the most holes wins 2 team points. If
tied, each player wins 1 team point.
Both
Players Missing From The Same Team
Example, Team 1 "A" and "B"
players vs. Team 2 "A" and "B" players (Or any
combination of A, B, C or D players). Both
Team 2 players are absent. Team
1 players will each receive 1 point each
One
Player Present, 3 Players Missing
Example, Team 1 "A" and "B"
players vs. Team 2 "A" and "B" players (Or any
combination of A, B, C or D players). Team
1 "A" player is present and his
“B” player is absent. Both Team “B’
players
are absent. Since the Team 1 “A” player
is representing his team, the Team 1 “A” player wins 2 team points.
SKINS GAME
Skins
will be an optional event. Separate skins
will be played within each
flight (A, B, C and D) Skins will be based on gross
scores: for
A and B players par or better to win and for C and D players
bogey or
better to win. For a player to be included in the skins
game(s), the
player must pay in advance for the remainder of the league season. Skins will begin on April 16 and continue through the
last
scheduled match on Aug 20).
The cost for each week is $2.50 for a total cost of $45.00. If a player has not paid on or before April 17 and wishes to enter later for
his flight,
he must pay for the remainder of league play ($2.50
for each remaining week). Monies will
not be collected each week unless
the total amount is paid. Unless a golfer has prepaid, his score will
not be
counted for skins. Skins will not be
played during team events (if scheduled). Flight championships
round may
be used in event of rainouts. The amount of monies for each
flight will
vary based on number of golfers participating. Winners will be paid at
the end
of year dinner. If there are no skins for the current week for a
flight,
money will be carried over to the following week. In the event there is
no
winner the last match, winner (s) will be golfer(s) with the lowest
gross score
for a hole September 3. If a tie, money will be divided among the tied
golfers.
Flight
Leader Points (Team Members Only). The
player in a flight (A,B,C, or D) who has accumulated the most
individual points in their 19 flight head to head matches will win
$50.00. One point will be awarded for each
match won. For ties, each player receives
1/2
point. If your opponent does not show, you must play against the
pre-determined card. The order for which golfer card is used will
change
weekly. Example, Week 1, card will be
from Team 1, with teams 2 through 10 as backup. Week 2, card will
be from
Team 2, with teams 3 through 1 as back up. After 10 weeks, order will
start again with Team 1.Example 1: It is week 2, you are a
"A" player on Team 4 and scheduled to play Team 9 "A"
player. Your opponent does not show. It is week 2, the card
team is
Team 2. You will play against the card of Team 2 "A" player with full
handicap. If you win the match you receive one point, if you tie you
receive
one half point, if you lose you receive no point. Only the player
present
can win the point. The player absent or the card player will receive no
point.
Example 2: It is week 5, you are a "B" player on Team 5 and scheduled
to play Team 10 "B" player. Your opponent does not show. It is week
5, the card team is Team 5. Since you are on Team 5, you cannot
play
against your own card; you will go to the first alternate, which is
Team
6. You will then play against Team 6 "B" player’s card.
Example 3: It is week 9; you are a "C" player on team 6 and scheduled
to play Team 8 "C" player. Your opponent does not show. Team 9
"C" player should be the card to play, but he is also absent, the
first alternate scheduled for you is Team 10, however, he is also
absent, the
next card in sequence to play is Team 1 "C" player's card.
Players present and players absent will affect which card you play. If neither player shows, no point will be awarded. Money will be paid to the winner at the end of the year dinner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the most matches won between the tied players. Example, Team 1 "B" player and Team 9 "B" player both have 14 points. However, Team 9 "B" had beaten Team 1 "B" twice during their head to head match, therefore Team 9 "B" is the flight leader winner. In the event they each won one match and are still tied, they will split the $50.
DRESS CODE
Please abide by Nemacolin’s stated dress code i.e. No Blue Jeans or Tee Shirts.
GENERAL
Hole-In-One-Insurance
$ 5.00 per player will be collected each year. If more than one Hole-In-One occurs on the same league night, money will be split between the winners. Note special team event(s) count for hole in one. The amount of money awarded to a hole-in-one recipient will be based on the number of years the winner has paid into the fund.
Example1.
If a new player pays in $5.00 and he is the only
winner, he will be paid the money collected for the year he joined.
Example2.
If a new player and player(s) with 2 or more years
in the skins pot and each have a hole in one the same night, all
players split
the current year monies. The veteran player(s) will also collected
their share
of the skins monies he/they has paid in from previous years.
Special
exception: If the skins were won by a player who only
won a portion of the pot, the remaining money will be available to
those who
still have money in this skins pot.
League play will start April 9, 2009
and resume
weekly through September 17, 2009. See
2009 Schedule.
At the end of each match, scorecards
must be given to: Bill Plume, Shawn Armstrong,
Bob Markutsa, or Dean Dennis.
Gross scores entered on score cards
will be adjusted using a process called Equitable Stroke Control (ESC).
ESC sets a maximum allowable number of
strokes
on each hole. For nine hole scores,
golfers with handicaps of less than 5 are limited to a double bogey on
a hole. For other golfers the following
apply:
Handicap --- Maximum Strokes
(Used for handicapping only ~ No Max handicap in league)

7 20
or More 10

It
is
important not to quit on a hole unless the team match for the hole has
been
determined.
There are no maximum strokes when playing a match. You are playing a team match where total net scores determine which team wins the hole. If you quit on a hole, you and your team partner forfeit the hole to your opponents.
