Fayette Golf League 2008

Out Of Bounds / Lost Ball Procedures

There  is out of bounds on only holes 8 & 9. Road on no 8 is out of bounds, and the white stakes on the right side of of no 8 are out of bounds.  The left side white stakes areas of no 9 is out of bounds. However as course conditions dictate possible out of bounds or restrictions, the league will be made aware of these changes by the Rules committee.  Remember you have 5  minutes to look for a lost ball, this time starts when you approach the spot where the ball was last seen. You may move the ball anywhere on the course. However, you cannot move the ball  more than 6 inches or from the rough to the fairway, out of a sandtrap.

 Mulligan / Provisional

Mulligan is only available after hitting the first drive of your first hole played.  Provisional can be played anytime you feel your ball may be lost (see Lost Ball Procedures).   However if you hit a mulligan, you must play your mulligan. You must hit your mulligan before leaving the tee box, otherwise your mulligan becomes void. If  your mulligan is in doubt , then you can hit a provisional ball, however if you find your mulligan, you must play it. Otherwise, if  you play you provisional ball, you will be laying three(3) with your penalty.

Lost Ball Procedures

If you are unable to find your ball, you must return to the original location where you hit the ball from,  you must hit another ball from this location. Example: If you hit your second shot from the fairway and lose your ball, you drop another ball at that same spot you hit from originally and will be laying 3 and after that shot you will laying 4.  If anytime you feel a shot you hit may be lost, hit a provisional ball from the same spot. This will save time from having to go back to the original location and hit again. If original shot found no penalty. If you did not play a provisional ball from the original spot, to speed up play you can drop a ball where you think the ball was lost and add 2 strokes to your score on the hole ( 1 stroke for the lost ball and 1 stroke for the distance by not going back to the original spot).

If you have a question during play, play a second ball and contact the rules committee after the match for a ruling.
